Integrated_LCA_Nested_Phoenix

Nested Phoenix is a next generation computational engine for an integrated dynamic life cycle assessment and material stocks and flows analysis of the built environment.

Nested Phoenix uses a bottom-up approach to model the built environment, from door handles, to window frames, to partition walls, structure, sidewalks, squares, parks, neighbourhoods and cities.  Coupled to geographical information systems, Nested Phoenix enables a spatialised LCA and MFA of a built stock at unprecedented resolution. Nested Phoenix will enable decision-making related to retrofitting, urban mining, urban design and planning and the circular economy. Nested Phoenix benefits from an international team of experienced researchers from different disciplines.

Nested Phoenix was launched on the 20th of June 2023, in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

We expect to make the make the model available in 2024.

The recording of the launch is available below or directly on YouTube
